Selection and maintenance of wood drying equipment

　　Now solid wood furniture has become a consumer product, because its durability is very popular, and this kind of wood needs to be processed by a variety of processes such as material selection and drying. Only the drying work is done in place enough to ensure that the furniture will not be deformed and cracked, and there will be no moth and mildew.

　　The reason of surface cracking is that the surface layer shrinks after drying, but it is restricted by the interior. The related factors are drying conditions, drying shrinkage, water movement ability and so on. Under the same drying condition, the higher the density of wood is, the more likely it is to crack; the drying shrinkage in the width direction of tangential wood is about twice that of radial wood.

　　Drying temperature is closely related to surface cracking. It is easy to crack at low temperature of 0-5 ℃, which is mainly due to low temperature, small water diffusion coefficient and large water content gradient. Exposure of easily cracked wood to strong northerly winds should be avoided. When the temperature is more than 50 ℃, the wood surface is easy to crack.

　　The temperature difference of some wet spheres increases sharply, which is easy to cause surface cracking. Under certain temperature conditions, the wood with small cell collapse but easy to crack is easy to crack due to high temperature. Therefore, the suitable drying conditions should be selected to prevent the initial cracking of wood.
